The Parliamentary Budget Office met with the Centro Europa Ricerche (CER), Prometeia and REF.ricerche, with Italy’s national statistical institute (ISTAT) participating as an observer. The meeting, which was part of the collaborative relationship established last year with independent forecasting institutions for the development of macroeconomic forecasts and the analysis of trends in the public finances, was organised by the PBO to obtain the views of the forecasters in view of the upcoming official duties of the PBO, in particular the validation of the Government’s macroeconomic forecasts for the 2015 Economic and Financial Document.
