Valeria De Bonis is a member of the Board of the Parliamentary Budget Office. She is full professor of Public Finance at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, a position she also held previously at the University of Pisa. She was department head in both of these universities. She has a degree in Law from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and in Economics from the University of Siena, an M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics and a PhD in Economics from the University of Kiel. She has taught at universities in Italy and abroad and consulted for national and international institutions, such as the World Bank and Italy’s Ministry for Economic Development. Her main research interests regard the international aspects of public finance, the macroeconomic aspects of public finance, the economic analysis of taxation and the analysis of the efficiency and effectiveness of public intervention. She has participated in and coordinated research projects and published numerous papers, including work in national and international journals such as International Tax and Public Finance, Applied Economics, Oxford Economic Papers, Economic Modelling, Macroeconomic Dynamics and the Journal of Policy Modeling.
